About
I have lived in many places since I left my hometown of Cornwall, located on the beautiful St. Lawrence River, in search of fame or fortune as an idealistic 19-year-old. In order, they are: Sarnia (college), Timmins (first job), Kitchener (job in nearby Cambridge), Windsor (job, 1987-1993), London (job), Ottawa (job), Cobourg (first stop on the self-employment ladder) and now … Leamington.
One of the reasons my husband and I decided to quit our full-time jobs in favour of self-employment was to be free to travel and live where we wanted — not just where a job took us. We are both attracted to water, so Leamington, with its beautiful lakefront, seemed the perfect choice for what I have promised is our final move. Honest!
We now have our own piece of heaven by the lake, just a short bike ride away from Point Pelee National Park. What more does a girl need?
It may sound crazy, but setting down permanent roots is liberating. I can now discover my new town, and rediscover Windsor, where my sister and her husband live and where my niece is making her own family, at a leisurely pace. I don’t have to wonder where I’m going next. I’m home and happy to be here.
I hope you enjoy this blog, where I’ll mix in tips about cleaning and decluttering with my own take on life. Don’t be shy: your comments are always welcome! But if you don’t see them right away, that’s because I haven’t logged on to press the “approved” button yet. I’m probably out staring at my lake!
